6:8 Sunday
You never know how God will use 6:8 Sunday. At my church’s morning service, I showed a DVD and talked about my heart for the poor. Several people showed interest, and three kids were sponsored! I was encouraged-- I know how sponsorship impacts a child. A few months later, a business owner called me. My presentation had stirred his heart, and he wanted to make a very generous donation. I was humbled and overwhelmed. Food for the Hungry used his donation in Bangladesh for microenterprise loans to impoverished women to start businesses to support their families, such as dressmaking or restaurants. A loan of $75 or $100 can completely change the life of a family. I took a step of faith, made a simple presentation—and now 3 children’s lives are dramatically impacted through sponsorship, and women struggling in poverty in Bangladesh are able to feed their families, send their children to school, and begin to slowly rise out of poverty. 6:8 Sunday makes a difference.

On 6:8 Sunday, your church can respond to the call of Micah 6:8 through child sponsorship, and make a lasting difference in the lives of children and communities all over the world. Would you invite your church or small group to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God” through hosting a 6:8 Sunday this year?
6:8 Sunday is simple. All you need to do is:
- Show the sponsorship DVD, “Offering Hope.” Learn how sponsorship makes a tremendous impact in the life of a child.
- Have your church leader endorse Food for the Hungry and child sponsorship.
- Share from your heart about why you think child sponsorship is important.
- Be available at a table before and after services to share child packets and talk to people who are interested in finding out more.
